Job Specifications:
- Responsible for planning, managing, and improving the learning of students, working with other team members.
- In collaboration with the team to implement and continually improve curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- To manage the learning of the students and collaborate with other teachers.
- To manage all facilities and activities related to achieving student learning.
- To play a leadership role in role-modeling behavior, attitudes, and learning behaviors for students.
- To develop and maintain teaching materials and assist with program quality assurance processes.
Education Required:
- Mastercraftsman in the relevant area OR skilled worker in the relevant area
- Excellent oral and written English essential
- IELTS 7 Academic for non-first language English speakers only – mandatory
- Arabic Language is an advantage
Experience Required:
- Experience (industry or skilled trades) in a relevant area of wood technology in the carpentry field, Architecture, or Civil Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of relevant vocational teaching/training with experience in qualifications delivery
- Ability to teach the following:
- Wood species and machining properties
- Woodworking tools (designations, areas of application, use, handling, work safety and personal protective equipment)
- Processing solid wood (processing techniques sawing, planning, rasping, filing drilling, sanding, occupational safety and personal protective equipment)
- Processing panel materials (processing techniques sawing, planning, chiselling, rasping, filing, drilling, grinding, occupational safety and personal protective equipment)
- Processing and gluing veneers (types of wood, cutting techniques, assembling, gluing, gluing on, safety at work and personal protective equipment)
- Develop products (design and make models)
- Plan product-related work processes, carry out, evaluate and optimize production processes
- Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes
- Produce melded part (gluing techniques, clamping devices)
- Machining components with small hand-operated machines (teacher requires a training qualification on machines), work safety and personal protective equipment, accident prevention regulations (UVV)
- Machining components with stationary woodworking machines (teacher absolutely needs a machine course), work safety and personal protective equipment, accident prevention regulations (UVV)
- Make jigs and work aids
- Carry out surface treatment (pre-treat surfaces, sanding and apply coating agents such as oils, waxes, stains, occupational safety and personal protective equipment)
- Manufacturing devices and work aids
- Bricklaying, Concrete construction
- Tile Setting, Plastering
- Carpentry
- Cultural awareness of the area
- IT skills
- Practical skills in the relevant area including up-to-date legal requirements and Health & Safety regulations
Preferred:
- Work experience in GCC region or similar location
