We are hiring a compassionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our client’s academic team in the United Arab Emirates for AY-2023-2024. The successful candidate shall support teachers by designing and implementing individual and group intervention programs and inclusion supports for children with additional developmental, educational, or behavioral needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promoting inclusion:
- Provide in-service training to the community and school personnel regarding psychological services and the needs of students
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and consultation in the implementation of instructional interventions for students of determination
- Observe classrooms in order to make recommendations of support needed for student success
- Provide direction in the collection and interpretation of data so modifications can be made to the instructional program
- Offering individualized support:
- Support teachers in assessing children’s individual needs
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to design individualized programs for children with additional needs
- Keep records of interventions offered and records of children’s performance
- Support development and compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Partnerships:
- Provide strategies, and activities to parents for use with their child with additional needs
- Provide information and training sessions to parents regarding cognitive, emotional, and behavioral child development
- Collaborate with parents to refer children to psychologists and other therapists, and to link them with recommended services
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree graduate in Special Education, Early Childhood Development, or a relevant field. A degree in education supplemented by certifications/coursework in special needs will also be considered.
- Native Arabic speaking (bilingual preferred)
- Certified/licensed as a teacher in the home country or from the country of College/University degree.
- Elementary Education license/certification and or Early Childhood license/certification
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in PreK till 4/5 if a holder of a Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College;
- More than 2 years of teaching experience; if a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in a content area from a recognized accredited or nationally licensed University or College
- Prior experience working with children with special needs
