Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with students who have a wide range of learning, emotional, physical, or intellectual disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored educational plans, foster an inclusive learning environment, and ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):

  • Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, counselors, and other educators to set goals and track progress.

• Instructional Support:

  • Adapt general education lessons and teaching methods to accommodate various disabilities.
  • Use innovative teaching techniques to make learning engaging and accessible.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as needed.

• Classroom Management:

  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement behavioral intervention plans and teach social-emotional skills.

• Assessment & Evaluation:

  • Assess students’ abilities and progress through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Document and report on student progress regularly to parents and school leadership.

• Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with general education teachers to integrate students into mainstream classrooms when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates and guidance.

• Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on best practices, teaching methods, and special education regulations.
  • Participate in workshops, training, and school activities as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience in Special Education.
