The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students the fundamental principles of electrical engineering, including circuit theory, electrical systems, power distribution, and electrical safety. This role involves both theoretical lessons and hands-on lab sessions, equipping students with the practical skills required to pursue careers in electrical engineering, electrical maintenance, and related fields. Key Responsibilities
- Teach the principles of electrical engineering, including circuit design, electrical systems, power generation, and distribution.
- Develop and deliver practical lessons involving electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Use industry-standard tools and equipment to enhance student learning, including electrical testing and measurement devices.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in electrical technologies, incorporating them into lessons.
- Prepare students for industry certifications in electrical systems and engineering.
- Assess student performance through projects, exams, and practical tasks.
- Encourage problem-solving and critical thinking in real-world electrical applications.
- Advise students on career paths in electrical engineering, electrical maintenance, and related fields.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate electrical concepts into other STEM subjects.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching license.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching electrical systems or a related subject.
- Proficiency in using electrical systems software and laboratory equipment.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
