Job Description

The Primary School Teacher is responsible for teaching and nurturing young students at the primary school level. They will create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will deliver lessons in a variety of subjects and support the development of fundamental skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Instruction:

    • Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum standards.
    • Teach a range of subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and basic life skills.
    • Foster a love of learning by using interactive and creative teaching methods to engage students.
  2. Student Engagement and Support:

    • Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
    • Provide individualized attention to students who need extra help or those who excel, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
    • Encourage the development of social and emotional skills alongside academic learning.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Monitor and assess students’ progress through regular assignments, quizzes, and informal assessments.
    • Provide timely feedback to students and adjust teaching methods based on individual progress.
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
  4. Classroom Management:

    • Establish and maintain effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
    • Set clear expectations for student behavior and academic achievement.
    • Address behavioral or academic concerns promptly, communicating with parents or guardians when necessary.
  5. Extracurricular Activities:

    • Participate in or organize extracurricular activities such as school events, field trips, and school clubs.
    • Encourage students to take part in school events to develop their interests and talents.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary lessons and ensure a well-rounded education for students.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress and discussing any concerns or achievements.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and stay updated on educational trends.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
    • Prior experience teaching at the primary school level is required.
    • IELTS 7.5
