Job Description

The PE Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a variety of physical education activities designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy living in students. The teacher will guide students in developing both physical skills and understanding the importance of a balanced lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Instruction:

    • Develop and implement engaging PE lesson plans that meet school standards and foster students’ physical development.
    • Teach physical education courses to students of various age groups (elementary, middle, or high school).
    • Plan and lead activities and games that focus on cardiovascular health, strength, coordination, flexibility, and teamwork.
  2. Assessment and Evaluation:

    • Assess students’ physical fitness, skills, and progress using appropriate tools and methods.
    • Provide constructive feedback on students’ performance and offer strategies for improvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide periodic evaluations.
  3. Student Engagement and Support:

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where all students feel encouraged and challenged.
    • Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork during all physical activities.
    • Adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of students with varying physical abilities and skill levels.
  4. Health and Safety:

    • Ensure that all physical activities are conducted safely and in compliance with school policies and guidelines.
    • Monitor and ensure proper use of sports equipment and facilities.
    • Respond to injuries or health emergencies as required, following first-aid procedures.
  5. Extracurricular Activities:

    • Organize and supervise sports events, games, and after-school physical activities, including school sports teams and competitions.
    • Encourage student participation in athletic events and fitness challenges.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical activity into other subject areas when applicable.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements in physical education.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and school meetings as required.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
    • Previous experience teaching physical education at the appropriate grade level (elementary, middle, or high school) is preferred.
    • IELTS 7.5
